ScrollFrame is published by Chenglin Wu. This policy explains how the app handles information.
ScrollFrame stitches screen recordings and screenshots into one long image entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings, screenshots, and finished images are never uploaded to us or to any server.
1. Information We Handle
1.1 Stored on your device
ScrollFrame stores the following inside the app on your device only:
- Projects: for each long image you make, copies of the source frames or screenshots, the stitching layout, your edits (crop, redactions, text, drawings, shapes, and watermark), and a thumbnail, so you can reopen it from Recent. Deleting a project from Recent deletes all of these.
- Screen recordings waiting to be stitched: when you record with ScrollFrame, the recording is kept in a container shared between the app and its recording extension until it is stitched. It is deleted once it is stitched. When the app or recording extension runs its cleanup, unprocessed recordings older than about a day are deleted, except for the latest recording waiting to be stitched, which is kept until it is processed or the app is deleted.
- Settings: your default export format, default Clean Up choices, theme color, appearance, last watermark text, and whether you have finished the introduction.
1.2 Media processed on your device
- Screen recordings: you start a recording yourself from the system recording sheet or Control Center, and iOS shows a red indicator while it runs. The ScrollFrame recording extension saves the screen video only; it does not use the microphone or any audio.
- Screenshots and recordings from Photos: the items you choose are read on your device to find overlaps and build the long image.
- Exported images: created on your device as PNG, JPEG, HEIC, or PDF. They leave the app only when you save them to Photos or share them using the iOS share sheet.
1.3 Purchases (RevenueCat and Apple)
ScrollFrame uses RevenueCat to manage ScrollFrame Pro. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user identifier, purchase receipts, product identifiers, and subscription or purchase status to validate purchases, provide and restore Pro access, and provide purchase and subscription analytics through its dashboard. This information is not linked to your name or email address. Apple processes payments and related transaction information under Apple's policies.
1.4 What we do not collect
ScrollFrame has no user accounts, advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics about your screenshots, recordings, editing, or other use of the app. RevenueCat provides purchase and subscription analytics as described in section 1.3. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or activity across other apps and websites. We cannot see your recordings, screenshots, or images.
2. How We Use Information
Information on your device is used only to stitch, edit, and export your long images, to keep your projects in Recent, to remember your settings, and to provide purchased features. Purchase information is used to validate purchases, provide and restore ScrollFrame Pro, and understand purchase and subscription performance through RevenueCat.
3. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising or cross-app tracking. Purchase information is processed by Apple for App Store payments and by RevenueCat for purchase management, entitlement status, and purchase and subscription analytics, under their own privacy policies. When you share an image, you choose where it goes using the iOS share sheet.
4. Permissions
- Photo Library (read): optional. Used to show your screenshots and screen recordings inside ScrollFrame so you can pick them. You can allow full or limited access. Without it, ScrollFrame uses the system photo picker, which gives the app only the items you choose.
- Photo Library (add only): used only when you tap Save to put a finished image into Photos. ScrollFrame never changes or deletes items in your library.
- Notifications: optional. Used only to send one local notification when a recording finishes, so you can return to ScrollFrame. Notifications are created on your device; ScrollFrame does not use push notifications.
- Screen recording: you start it yourself each time, as described in section 1.2.
- Network: used for purchase management and purchase and subscription analytics with Apple and RevenueCat. All free features work without a connection.
5. Your Choices
You can deny or turn off any permission in iOS Settings; the related feature will not work, and the rest of the app still does. You can delete projects from Recent, or delete the app to remove all of its data. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and use Restore Purchases in ScrollFrame.
6. Children's Privacy
ScrollFrame is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It has no advertising, chat with other users, or public user-generated content.
7. Data Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it or delete the app, except recordings waiting to be stitched, which are removed as described in section 1.1. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat according to their legal and operational requirements.
8. Security
ScrollFrame relies on iOS data protection for information on your device, and on the encrypted connections used by Apple and RevenueCat for purchases. No system can guarantee absolute security. Redaction in ScrollFrame is applied to the exported image; check the result before sharing sensitive content.
9. International Processing
Apple and RevenueCat may process pseudonymous purchase information in several countries under their own policies. Everything else stays on your device.
10. Changes
We may update this policy as ScrollFrame changes. The Last Updated date identifies the current version.
